Assisted Living at Summit Place of Beaufort

Situated on the site of an old plantation on the banks of Battery Creek, Summit Place strives to provide quality care for you and your loved one. Our friendly, family-oriented community offers residents assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, transportation, housekeeping, laundry service and more.

There are many benefits to life at Summit Place, including socialization and interaction with others of similar age and interests, medication administration, and assistance with activities of daily living while still maintaining dignity and encouraging independence. Family members have the peace of mind of knowing that the needs of their loved one are being met.

Alzheimer’s Care

Our friendly, family-oriented community is Beaufort’s only assisted living community with a Memory Wellness Program for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. We respectfully provide care and direction to each individual and his or her family through our support, guidance, and tender care.

The decision to place a relative with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in an assisted living community is often difficult. At Summit Place, we live by our promise to provide compassionate care for you and your family member. Open communication is our policy, and we will always do our best to listen to your concerns and suggestions. The same high-quality services provided in our assisted living program are also provided to our Alzheimer’s care residents.

Additionally, we have:

  • An Alzheimer’s Consultant with over fourteen years experience in geriatrics, Alzheimer’s, and Dementia care.
  • Director of special care that specializes in Alzheimer and dementia care.
  • Daily schedule of social, recreational, spiritual enrichment, and wellness activities designed especially for Alzheimer and dementia residents.

Penny Mont is our Alzheimer’s Consultant. With over fourteen years of Alzheimer’s care experience, Penny loves to welcome visitors to her Alzheimer’s information center at Summit Place. She has a BS in Special Education and taught for eighteen years in New York. She also has a  master’s degree in Geriatric Recreation Therapy. Penny is orginally from Connecticut and has lived in the Beaufort area for over ten years.

Life at Summit Place

Socialization is one of the greatest benefits to life at Summit Place. Our monthly activity calendar includes on and off-site activities and excursions enjoyed by residents and staff alike. We get family members involved in the fun during our family-night events, and we open our doors to the Beaufort community for a number of special events throughout the year.

Respite Care

Respite Care, or short term care, is available at Summit Place for those recuperating from illness or injury and need a little extra assistance with activities of daily living while they get back on their feet. Our respite-care program is also available to caregivers who are out of town for a short period of time for business or pleasure and need care for their loved one during their absence. This program is also a great way to experience life at Summit Place before making a longer-term commitment. All services and amenities that apply to our full-time assisted living and Memory Wellness Program residents also extend to our respite-care residents. Our respite-care program is subject to availability.
